To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your
heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you
want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your
heart to no one. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and
little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in
the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket—
safe, dark, motionless, airless— it will change. It will not
be broken; it will become unbreakable, inpenetrable, irredeemable.
C. S. Lewis
Be thankful for every heartbreak, for they were planned. They come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. Their purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life. And you do.
A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know.
Diane Arbus
All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won’t succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy.
Wayne Dyer
But the problem with me was that as soon as I started thinking about getting it together, I got this mad craving desire to fuck it up.
